Dr. Myles Schneider

Dr. Myles Schneider grew up in the Bronx, New York and graduated from New York University in 1965 with a B. A. degree. He earned his DPM (Doctor of Podiatric Medicine) degree from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio in 1969. Following this, he pursued his training in foot surgery at the Kern Hospital for Special Surgery in Detroit, Michigan 1969-1970. After his residency training he came to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area and did a one year Preceptorship/Training with

Dr. Charles Turchin in Washington, D.C. from 1970-1971. He then went into private practice in Annandale, Virginia from 1971-the present. He is Board Certified in and a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. His special interests in podiatric practice include;

Conservative/ Preventative care for foot and ankle problems

Podiatric Sports Medicine injuries

Musculoskeletal conditions related to inefficient foot and leg functioning.

He has authored several books including:

  • “How to Doctor Your Feet Without The Doctor”,
  • “The Family Foot Care Book”
  • “The Athlete’s Health Care Book from the Hip Down”
  • “The Moss Brown Runners Log”
  • “To Be Or Not To Be Healthy-For most of us, this is a choice”.

His books have been excerpted in many magazines and newspapers including: “McCalls”, “Prevention Magazine”, “The Working Woman”, The New York Times”, “The Washington Post’, ‘”The Journal Papers” amongst others. He has written articles for various national magazines including “Shape”, “Runners World”, and ••Running Times”. He has been written about in ‘”People Magazine” and has appeared on local and national radio and television shows including: “The Phil Donahue Show”, “Morning Break”, P.M. Magazine” and “The Regis Philbin Lifestyle Show”.

Outside of Podiatry he has been a marathon runner and fitness enthusiast all his adult life and over the years has lectured and -written about sports medicine injuries in the lower extremities. Currently he also devotes a lot of time writing and speaking about the importance of all of us being proactive about and self-responsible for our own health. Finally, he also spends a lot of time playing with and enjoying his grandchildren.
